Is it really against the law to sing off key in North Carolina?

7. When you see those lists of odd laws, you will notice that they are ordinarily not accompanied by a citation that one can look up and see the actual law. Mostly what they are is someone's version of a weird application of the facts to a general law. For example, it is entirely possible that NC has a law prohibiting disorderly conduct and someone was arrested for that offense and the evidence showed that he was singing (badly) on a street corner and when the officer asked him to move on he just sang more loudly. I have seen in such lists at least a half dozen attributed to my state. None are to be found in the statutes of my state.
